"Over-Parenting is overly fixated on the child's needs as perceived by the parent. [It] shares tendencies with overprotectiveness and an extreme willingness to do anything for the child" in addition, over-parenting, or helicopter parenting, also includes "risk aversion, a preoccupation with the child's happiness, and the drive to solve problems for the child, perhaps before they even develop" (Segrin, Woszidlo, Bauer, & Murphy, 2012).
